We see you… staring at the proposed camp itinerary for the 15th time or even worse, the blank itinerary.
Somehow, you managed to find yourself as the group coordinator for the next camp. Maybe you were feeling helpful and volunteered, maybe you missed the meeting and the board voted you into the role. However it happened, here you are, wondering how are you ever going to pull this all together?
Well, let me throw you a lifeline. If the Gold Coast Performance Centre is on your short list of locations, make sure you read our step-by-step booking guide below.
1. Ideal dates
Cutting straight to the point, you need to work out what dates work for your group or school. Consider seasons, school holidays, special rates, Gold Coast events and low season rates. Our staff are fully versed on these factors and help you to narrow down the best dates for your needs.
2. Number of guests
Again, many camp coordinators will dictate the amount of guests they wish to bring, however, did you know there are special group rates for some Gold Coast activities if you book more than 20 tickets? Transport companies have specific bus sizes which may impact the cost of transport, for example, requiring 2 buses instead of 1. If you give us a ball park figure, we can help you decide minimum and maximum guest numbers. The number of guests will also determine the size and how many lodges you require, along with the rooming allocations of your guests.
3. Catering
Catering can make or break a camp experience. Our staff can guide you when deciding on the best options for your group. Some considerations include:
-
Budget: Each Lodge has a self-contained kitchenette where breakfast and or lunch can be self-catered (Fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle available).
-
Guest requirements: Some of our guests are here to train hard and they need advanced nutrition to refuel. Our qualified chefs prepare nutritionally balanced meals with the option of a premium add on, providing more variety and more volume of food.
-
A little extra: We also have the option of morning tea and afternoon tea as some of our groups require top ups during the day to meet their needs.
-
Convenience: Many of our groups are here to compete or participate in activities that are off site. Our catering team offers a packed option on all our meals that can be collected before the group departs for the day.
4. Safety
Our staff can share pre prepared risk assessments for the activities available on site. This can save you quite some time and effort.
5. Lodge configurations
Did you know we have a number of
lodge configurations for you to choose from on site?
- Twin share lodge
- Quad share lodge
- Accessible lodges
We can help you choose the best configuration for your requirements, considering any special needs, gender breakdown, child to adult ratios, social distancing requirements and group expectations.
6. Programs and activities
We have such a variety of groups stay with us at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, some have extensive budgets and others are travelling on a shoestring. We are happy to advise on the best option for your group and your budget. For the high flyers, we can suggest all manner of specialist workshops onsite conducted by professionals. For the budget travellers, we have several beautiful and free locations close to the centre where you can enjoy the great outdoors and the perfect climate of the Gold Coast. All our on-site standard activities start at $10.40* pp (higher rates for weekends and public holidays) and there are approximately 20 activities to choose from. Get inspired by browsing our
